When does a bar become your workshop?

Today is a rare 49-degree stormy day in Los Angeles and when it's cold outside it's even colder in my shop. Those concrete floors are brutal!  Luckily today I'm not working with hand tools so it's a good day to move inside where it's warm.

Last year we'd rearranged this space, selling off our beloved Judge Dredd pinball machine my husband bought me when I turned 40, to make room for just this occasion.  If needed, I can move the bar stools out of the way and bring in a folding table.  So I grab all of my supplies and move into the room that holds our bar.  I've got a great view of our beautiful backyard but it's distracting, even when it's pouring outside.  I find it easier to focus when I'm in my shop, surrounded by all the pieces that need work.  All that said, I'm not complaining.  I'm grateful for this workspace alternative.  And if I hit a creative block, there's always tequila nearby to loosen those creative juices...or make me lose all motivation. Julie, stay focused!

PRO TIP:  I've found that your paints and mediums definitely perform better when they're on the warmer side of frozen.
